I’ve now used this cooler for a total of eight weeks over two summers and have to say it was a stellar purchase. Even in the heat of July with daytime temperatures into the high 80’s or 90’s (nighttime temperatures in the 70’s or sometimes 80’s) ice lasts days. I can usually go four days or so without needing to replace it and even once melted it keeps whatever water remains quite cold, so depending on what it’s used to store the need to replace can be stretched even further. I’ve also used it in slightly cooler later summer temperatures and the ice lasts even longer as would be expected.The plug is solid and allows no leaks although I would caution against expecting draining to not be somewhat messy. No fault of the cooler itself but something that comes with the territory. Hinges are still perfect and it still latches and seals properly. The included inner basket is awfully convenient as well as a fine and appreciated addition. Being as it’s somewhat larger than most commonly encountered coolers added to how it was constructed, it’s obviously heavier than one might expect. It’s not that bad empty but once loaded just make sure you’re able to safely move/carry it. The rope (or whatever the technical name is) handles are sturdy and make carrying it (especially when loaded) much easier than built-in handles would be.For the price I paid I’ve no doubt it’s already paid for itself in saving the need to purchase ice every other day as I had to do with the last cooler as well as the cost of gas having to run into town (about an hour plus round trip). The tan color is attractive-looking and doesn’t show age or use nearly as much as partly white coolers do. Based on my experiences I’d happily recommend it to anyone in the market for a somewhat larger rotomolded cooler. It’s become a welcomed addition to my camping trips and all evidence suggests it will continue to be for years to come.
