This steel bracket provides the proper reinforcement to the top sections and is compatible with most garage door openers. The bracket is very strong, at first I was hesitant to purchase because of its gauge 14( there are thicker gauge available, 12 and 10 ) and I have to say, I am glad I purchased the 14 gauge, it is super sturdy, thicker gauge at least for my door which by the way is Impact rated would have been overkill as well as representing an inconvenient because of the added thickness and the horizontal reinforcements, although I had to cut out portions of it to make room for the reinforcement and drill 2 more holes I rate it easy to install because it was an easy installation. In the pictures those modifications can be perceived as well as what it is compared to the flimsy angular that was used on the original installation, this bracket made a huge difference. I can foresee that on durability this would last a lifetime with just minor maintenance. This was probably not necessary but I installed 2 rubber washers on the "J" bar on the pin to reduce the play of it on the pin.
