I own this exact opener. I’ve had it for 10 years I bet. It is just now starting to slow. Down and not have the power it used to. I was shopping for replacement when I saw this listed. Had to comment since it’s been so reliable. Can’t comment on how long the charge last because I always return to the cradle. Takes up very little space. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. Now to decide if I want to upgrade or replace in kind!!!I previously purchased this product, and it worked well for about 6 years. Then the unit body developed a slimy, sticky feeling when you handled it. I tried cleaning it with various detergents and degreasers but that sticky feel just would not go away. I put up with that for about 2 more years and then the rechargeable battery finally gave out. Overall, I was satisfied with the performance and with the 8 year service life I got out of it even though I was unable to figure out the slime part.I bought this to replace one that didn't seem to keep a charge. It works; however, I would like it more if I could see inside it... if it were made of transparent rather than silver plastic... and I'm not too sure if I have figured out how to determine if it has a full charge or not. Nonetheless, it does the job, and I use it often! I would recommend. It's plastic...but it's good plastic. Appears sturdy enough. The charging base and wall charger are normal. I already have too many of them. A USB-C charge port might have been better. I bought this during a sales event on a whim. NYTimes "Wirecutter" recommended it because of the pricing ($17) and qualityBut the charger is now in a drawer and we'll see how long the battery lasts. Very simple to use and, so far, it has performed very well. A storage slot for the foil cutter is handy. Because fewer and fewer affordable wines come with a cork, the wisdom of spending even this small amount on this product seems questionable. But it is truly easier than any of my manual wine openers.I made the headline up for fun, but this product really is nice to have for opening wine bottles. My brother and his wife have one (not sure if it's the same brand), but I thought I'd try it. It makes you feel like you're in a high-end restaurant while you're opening wine bottles. I've had it for a month and it's gotten used a LOT.WE REALLY LIKE THIS OPENER .... VERY DEPENDABLE. THIS IS THE ONE WE REORDER WHENNEEDING REPLACEMENT AFTER SO MUCH USE. THIS IS OUR 3RD ONE IN MANY YRS USE.NOT A LOT OF BELLS & WHISTLES WHICH IS OUR FAVORITE.This is the second electric wine opener I have bought. The first one lasted for years, then started having problems pulling the cork out. I shopped at Amazon for a new and improved opener, but ended up buying the exact same one that is was replacing. I figure if it works, why change?Pretty reliable product. No complaints to date. Lots of shaving to be done, so I get my moneys worth. Non-replaceable batteries, Nicd batteries, LED light doesn't turn green when charged!!!Do I need to say more!!!In a world that we are trying to reduce garbage and use more renewable energy, this design is not acceptable any more!!!The product information page on Amazon didn't explain any of the above otherwise I would have never purchase it.SE LLAMA SACACORCHO.
