Leaving your regular garage remote clicker in your car (typically on the visor or in glove box) can open you up to a garage/home burglary risk if they are ever taken. That is the reason I switched from the regular "clicker" remotes that come with the garage door opener to this Liftmaster mini-keychain remote. It is about equal in size to my car's keyfob and is really economical. It is small enough that when combined with my other keys it still fits in my pants pocket comfortably. It is really easy to program and is fully compatible with my Sears Craftsman garage openers. I bought two remotes for my house and two more as gifts for a relative. I would recommend deprogramming your old clicker remotes as an extra security precaution which is easy to do with most garage door openers.I would say the only con is that the center button sticks up a bit too far from the body of remote which can cause accidental button presses when in your pants pocket when sitting down. For the DIY'ers out there, you could take a razor blade and shave the center button down so it is more flush with the body of the remote. Otherwise, I'd recommend programming the smaller buttons on the left or right of the remote first. I still give it 5 stars because it is far better and cheaper than any alternatives out there, including Sears Craftsman's own keychain remote which was a lot bulkier and double the cost (yes, I tried that first). Good luck in your research and purchase.PROS: Price, miniature size, brand compatibility, ease-of-use, multiple garage door programmability.CONS: Center button protrudes a bit much and can cause an occasional accidental button press if in your pocket.I pretty much agree with most of the other reviewers, both pro and con.On the pro side, the unit was offered at a good price; it was packaged well and delivered promptly; the unit itself is small and light, making it very convenient; it was a breeze to program to my Chamberlain opener, and it has great range. On the con side, the high profile of the buttons make unintended activation while it's in your pocket a real problem. For me it's just a little inconvenient because I use it on my bike and I almost always leave the remote on the bike (not in my pocket) when it's in the garage. So basically, the only time it's in my pocket is when I'm out and about and thus too far away from the door to matter. But I can see where it might be a deal-buster for some. One reviewer suggested attaching a plastic cover (specifically, one of those scanner fobs that stores delight in burdening you with) over the top with double-sided foam tape. I haven't tried it because, like I said, it's not a huge problem for me. But it sounds like a great solution. And if it weren't for that drawback this remote would deserve 5 stars. This mini remote does the job, was easy to pair with my garage door unit, is extremely lightweight, and was cost efficient. I wanted a keychain sized door opener so I wouldn't have to take the unit from my car. The mini is nice to have for when I don't do the driving (but still want to enter through my garage) or for when I have a guest who needs to go in and out (but whom I don't want to give house keys). It is better than giving house keys to guests due to costing less to replace than changing locks. Changing the code for the main unit and resynching the mini remote is pretty simple. The only con is that the buttons can too easily be accidentally pressed if the remote is in a pocket or purse. This can result in garage door being opened or closed unwittingly. After quickly discovering this I made sure to keep the mini situated such that it hangs outside of purse or pocket.I would definitely recommend this product. This product was a breeze to program. It literally took me 5 seconds to program this remote. And the good thing is that I didn't have to reprogram my other remotes in order to get this one on board. I simply pressed the "learn" button on my garage door CPU and pressed the button on my keychain remote that I want to use and that was that. I use the keychain remote for my vehicle that's parked outside of my 2 car garage so that if someone breaks into it, they can't get the big remote that I keep in the car and get into my garage. So for anyone who parks outside of their garage but uses the garage as the primary entry into their residence, this is the way to go. If someone breaks into your car while at the mall for instance, there's usually always something with your address on it in your car. The thief could easily use a GPS to get to your house, open your garage and have a field day. And, some of us don't lock our garage doors that lead to our houses so the thieves would have access to your home as well. I definitely recommend this keychain remote! This mini remote is a great way to always have my garage door opener on me, as I always used to forget the large clip-on remote for the visor. In fact, we bought three over the course of the year, one for each household member with a car, and everyone loves the convenience of having the remote. Programming could have been a bit easier, you have to get a ladder and press a button on the garage motor to get it to learn the new remote, but if you follow the instructions it is relatively simple, and you can program the lights as well, or multiple garage door if you have them. However, the buttons can be pressed too easily while in my pocket, and I often step outside to find that the garage door has opened or closed. We have a relatively quiet opener, so there's no telling whether or not I pressed the button by accident. Be careful to remove keys from your pockets when you get inside, otherwise you might be inviting some unwanted company into your garage!SMALL ADDITION IN SIZE FOR POCKET , WORKS GREATworks perfectly
